On Sunday, September 7, 2014, Westword will host its twentieth annual celebration of the Denver dining scene, DISH, in Sculpture Park at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, where many of the favorite restaurants of Cafe Society writers and readers will be serving delectable dishes. Patxi's Pizza will be bringing its Chicago-style pie -- our selection for 2014's Best Deep-Dish Pizza -- to DISH.

Patxi Azpiroz came to Denver two years ago after opening a number of deep-dish pizza parlors in California, and his take on Chicago pie quickly climbed to the top of our list of Denver's best pizza ranks. For its next bow at DISH, Patxi's is sticking to the classics.

Two pie varieties will be served: a pepperoni and sausage and a spinach and pesto, both made with a huge deep-dish crust and tons of tomato sauce on top. Patxi's uses natural pepperoni from Zoe's Meats in California and Denver's own Polidori sausage for its pizzas.

Patxi's pizza is just one of the offerings you'll find at DISH, which runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 7. (VIP entrance is at 11 a.m.) To see what else is in store and buy tickets for this culinary celebration's twentieth anniversary, visit the 2014 DISH site.
