Hoppity hop hop! On Saturday Winter Park hosts its Golden Bunny Classic Candy Hunt and Fun Race for kids 10 and under, a long-standing mountain tradition. Register before 11 a.m., then send them ripping along the bunny trail for as many runs on Discovery Park's Porcupine and Bobcat trails as they can fit in between 12:15 and 1:30 p.m. Look for Easter eggs scattered around the base village and elsewhere on the mountain. He's got a golden ticket! Speaking of hidden treasures, REI hosts its Members Only Garage Sale this weekend, with "as is" deals on lightly used and returned gear. Line up before 9 a.m. to get a (free) ticket to determine your entry time slot, then go nuts: You'll get 20 minutes to pick out up to five items before they throw you out and let the next group of gear hounds in to sniff around. Go big! Aspen Highlands closes out its season with Big Air Saturday at 3 p.m. near the base of Thunderbowl (registration is $20 plus lift ticket, which are on sale this weekend for $49 or $39 with a season pass from another mountain). Go the distance! Sticking closer to town this weekend? The 10th anniversary Boulder Distance Classic (formerly known as the Distance Carnival) is off to the races on Saturday with 1K, 5K and 15K race options (race day registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and ranges from $10 to $35, depending on which course you're running). April showers bring May flowers! The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat are one and the same at the World Pond Skimming Championships at Vail on Sunday at 1:30 p.m., and the similarly soaked 43rd annual Spring Splash at Winter Park, where the ruthless crowds will be rooting for you to go down with the ship in spectacular fashion.
