An Angel Cried A Tear Last Night: Amy Marschak's one-woman show about a little girl with a secret, already a hit on the fringe festival circuit and other stages, takes a difficult subject and makes it real, without being precious. Beginning tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Topo Ranch General Store, 1505 Pearl Street, Boulder, Angel continues with five more performances, through August 28. Admission is $12 to $15. Hellacious Hallucinations - Unleashing the Child: San Francisco magician Alan Sands amuses audiences with prop comedy skits and an edgy hypnosis show, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Naropa Performing Arts Center, 2130 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder. Shows continue through August 28; tickets are $15 (or two-for-one tonight only), with discounts allowed at the door for members of the military and Fringe volunteers. The Lovinator: The Wax Wing Ensemble brings the show they previewed in Denver at the Packing House to the Fringe, calling it a "Rock-n-Roll Tableau Vivant" comparable to a "Ziggy Jesus Christ Super Stardust silent film full of NOISE." This is Jesus like you've never seen him before. The Lovinator opens tonight at 8 p.m. and continues through August 28 at Wesley Chapel, 1290 Folsom Street, CU-Boulder campus; admission is pay-what-you-can tonight and $5 to $7 thereafter. Modal Kombat : Yale School of Music graduates David Hindman and Evan Drummond present audiences with grown-up version of Guitar Hero by using real instruments to control a video game battle onstage. Watch them face off in this unique multimedia performance beginning tonight at 8:30 p.m. at the Community Dance Collective, 2020 B Pearl Street; shows continue through August 26. Tix are two-for-one tonight and $12 to $15 thereafter; kids ages 12 and under get in at the door for $6. The Stories of Cesar Chavez: Well-received on the fringe circuit, Fred Blanco's solo show depicting the life of labor organizer and civil rights leader Cesar Chavez is a bilingual presentation with a lot to offer Colorado audiences. Get caught up in a story rooted in the struggles of migrant workers in California beginning tonight at 9:30 p.m. at Wesley Chapel, 1290 Folsom Street, CU-Boulder campus; admission is two-for-one tonight only and $9 to $10 thereafter.
