Opening day! Vail opens today with a 52-inch base, thirteen inches of new snow in the last week, an opening day terrain park on Born Free, and access to the mountain from both Vail Village and Lionshead. Still need a season pass? The $699 early-season price on the Vail Resorts' unlimited Epic Pass ends November 29. Eldora Mountain also opens today, with a 22-inch base and eight runs open (early-season lift tickets are $53).

Snowmass gets its party started tomorrow, a week earlier than previously planned, with a 26-inch base and six inches of fresh snow in the last week. Order 2-day advance tickets online for the best discount, or check out the Colorado Triple Play, a $249 pass, new this season, that buys two days each (six days total) at the Aspen/Snowmass resorts, Winter Park, and Copper Mountain.
