What's Illiterate doing in a sleek LoDo steakhouse? Gildar admits it's a stretch for the gallery's edgy stable. "This is totally different for us. It's not necessarily our crowd, which makes it interesting, but maybe scary, too. And that's good: If you don't have a little fear in you, what's the point in doing anything?" Along with the artwork hanging on the wall, by Ravi Zupa, Amanda Marie Ploegsma, Brittany Gould, Drew Englander, Jason Appleton and others, participating Illiterate artists Max Kauffman and Jaime Molina will create art in real time, which will be auctioned off at the end of the night. Appetizers and drink specials will accompany the soiree, which is -- did we mention? -- free.
The Illiterate salon is from 5 to 7:30 p.m.; find details at the DTD website.
