There's still a month of summer on the calendar, but seasonal activities are winding down. Still, there's plenty of fun to be had this weekend, everything from the last films in two outdoor movie series to the closing party for Andrew Novick's blood-themed photography show. And not only is the weekend full of fun, but nine of the events that follow are totally free. Esme Patterson at Goldyn (Friday, free) Stylish boutique Goldyn has an ongoing concert series that offers intimate sessions with local artists amidst the clothing racks. Tonight's performance features the sweet tunes of Esme Patterson of Paper Bird. Listen to Patterson croon, enjoy complimentary drinks, and browse Goldyn's impeccable selection of clothing and accessories.

We Bought a Zoo at Parfet Park (Friday, free) Tonight is your last chance to see a movie outdoors in Golden's Parfet Park. The City of Golden's summer music and movie series ends this evening with a performance by the Highland Ramblers followed by a screening of Cameron Crowe's 2011 We Bought a Zoo, family film starring Matt Damon as a recently widowed dad who decides to buy a zoo.

ArtCrank Denver at TAXI (Saturday, free) Now in its fifth year in Denver, ArtCrank brings together an eclectic variety of local artists to create limited-edition, bike-inspired posters that will be displayed at this party. Browse the art, grab a beer and ArtCrank pint glass for only $5, and enjoy music from CasheFlowe and Boba Fett and The Amercians.

Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival in Downtown Loveland (Friday-Saturday, free) Escape from the city to Loveland for the town's annual Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival. The two days of fun will include a parade, corn-shucking competition, and live entertainment. And, of course, you'll be able to delight in fresh roasted corn to munch on -- and the kernels that get stuck in your teeth will sustain you on the drive home.

Fancy! Pop up Shop at Wazee Union (Saturday, free) Get great end-of-summer deals on clothing and accessories at this day of local fashion fun. Kitty Mae Millinery, 50 Dresses, Fashion by Rae Marie and the Denver Fashion Truck will be on hand with killer discounts on unique clothing pieces, so you can get good deals while supporting local businesses.

Hotel Transylvania at Skyline Park (Saturday, free)The season of free outdoor films is coming to an end; get in one last film at Skyline Park tonight. Sit on blankets under the stars while you watch Hotel Transylvania, a 2012 animated film about a hotel owned by Dracula that hosts world-famous monsters on vacation.

NE Walk Fest at 33rd & Holly (Saturday, free) We often rely on vehicles to transport us, but today Stapleton's Walkfest will promote traveling by foot. Participants can meet at 33rd and Holly Street for a variety of themed walks including a literary walk, an historic Colorado walk, and more. Sixth Anniversary Party at Denver's Dangerous Theatre (Saturday, $10) Celebrate six years of Winnie Wenglewick's one-woman theater company tonight at this cabaret-style party complete with hard cider, performances and food. Admission goes toward a very worthy cause: funding more years of unique, original plays from this local gem.

Blood Lustre Closing Party at Kitchens' Ink (Sunday, free) Enjoy a real Bloody Mary at the closing reception for Andrew Novick's Blood Lustre. This will be your last chance to see the macabre photography show, which features models covered in real human blood -- their own.

Propaganda! All Headliners Show at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret (Sunday, free) The awesome, monthly night of free comedy is back with an all-star lineup of comedians -- every one of whom could headline the show. Sean Patton, Kate Berlant, David Gborie, Noah Gardenswartz, Andy Sandford, Dave Stone, Matt Knudsen and Andy Wood will perform while you laugh and pick up free pizza slice cards from Sexy Pizza. Last month's show was packed, so get there early to ensure a seat.
