Although St. Patrick's Day is over, the partying doesn't have to stop. This week, you can see a documentary about ending poverty, catch a sketch comedy show, or participate in a community scrapbooking project (and eat cookies). And all of these events are free, so you won't have to shell out any green from a wallet already depleted by a weekend of green beer. Bonsai People at the Denver Public Library (Monday) Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus has a vision for how to empower the poor: help instill an entrepreneurial spirit. Yunus pioneered the idea of Micro lending, giving $27 to each of 42 people to see how it would change their lives and help solve global problems of poverty. Whole Foods Market will present Bonsai People, a documentary by director Holly Mosher that which examines the power of Yunus's work, at the DPL's Central Public Library tonight.

Sketch Night! at the Deer Pile (Thursday) The city is teeming with stand-up open mics and shows, but Deer Pile debuts a fresh way to get your laughs tonight with a new sketch comedy show. Local favorites Sam Tallent and Ryan Mattingly (known collectively as Club Sensationzzz) will host this monthly evening that includes shorts from Hippieman, Chris Charpentier and many more comedians -- so skip the old Saturday Night Live episodes on Netflix and see real-life comedy -- for free.

The Reconstructionists: Celebrating Badass Women and Community Scrapbooking at the McNichols Building (Thursday) Eat cookies, drink milk and celebrate the lives of three unsung heroines at this Warm Cookies of the Revolution event. Bring your own construction materials to make a paper scrapbook page to pay tribute to strong women, or simply share stories that add to tonight's video scrapbook of this empowering community gathering.
