Nobody's going to argue that the sweet digital SLR you just picked up with the 20 katrillion megapixels and the extra-wide viewfinder is pretty sick, but let's be honest: You don't know what the hell about 80 percent of those knobs and switches do, and ever since you accidentally pressed that one button, every time you try to take a picture a bunch of colored lights flash at you and it makes a scary noise. Digital photography is some complicated business these days, and if you don't know your ISO from your aspect ratio, chances are you need a little help. For that, Working with Artists' free series of sample classes tomorrow is an excellent place to start.

Working with artists is all about helping out photographers both amateur and accomplished, and toward that goal the organization offers a variety of classes on subjects that range from making money using a camera to learning how to operate one. Of course, the shit's not cheap -- a little over $200 for a four-week course -- so it's natural to feel a little skeptical.

Tomorrow, though, it's all free. For the low, low price of $0, Working with Artists is offering a one-shot series of sample classes all day. Here's a list:

10:00-10:50 a.m., The Business of Photography

11:00-11:30 a.m., Visual Literacy

11:40a-12:10 p.m., Digital Camera II

12:20-12:50p p.m., Defining a Personal Vision

1:00-1:30 p.m., Intro to HD Video

2:00-2:30 p.m., Using a Portable Flash

2:40-3:10 p.m., Film and Darkroom I

3:20-3:50 p.m., Photography and Time

You can attend one or all of the classes, as many as you wish, but first RSVP by wither emailing Working with Artists or calling them at 303-837-1341.
