Cold beer, crispy tacos and badass skull art was the trifecta of treats last night at El Diablo. The restaurant at 101 Broadway was packed wall-to-wall for the third annual Dia de los Muertos Tattoo Artist Skull Show & Charity Auction, and the only thing better than the Day of the Dead art was the cause it was benefiting:all proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to Mi Casa Resource Center, committed to advancing the economic success of Latino and low-income families.

About 300 people ate, drank, soaked up the festive Halloween décor, and bid on the decorative skull art, created in accordance with the Day of the Dead theme and donated by tattoo artists from local shops the Blue Door, Phantom 8, Th'ink Tank, Sol Tribe, Fallen Owl, Freaky's, Lit, Marion Street Tattoo, Landmark Tattoo and Thick As Thieves.

Scott Ferguson from Thick As Thieves had donated a stunning, sepia-toned skull with "El Diablo" scripted across its forehead. "It's a great cause, and I'm happy to do it," he said.

Go to the head of the class! Here are some selections from last night's skull offerings.
