Final Friday Summer 2012 at MegaFauna (Friday, free) This end of summer bash is sure to get in all the things you want to do before the season is through, from buying summer clothes at discounted passes to the possibility of slip n slides and bouncy castles. MegaFauna is pulling out all the stops, bringing a great array of local designers, food trucks, DJ Nu Pro and DJ Cassie, and much more. The store won our 2012 Best RiNo Boutique award for good reason, so this is a great chance to check it out.
Do you see what I see? at Fraction Gallery (Friday, free) Last fall, artist Dmitri Obergfell launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to complete an art show he said would fulfill the cliche of walking in someone else's shoes. A year and $2,066 later, the project has come to fruition. Using two pairs of video eyeglasses, the exhibit will, as the Kickstarter explains:"This piece engages two participants through the fundamental experience of sight by exchanging their vision. The act of exchange functions as a way of closing the gap of physical experience in order to create an archetypal accord between its viewers. This work blurs the line of our physical beings and offers the opportunity for viewers to share perspective."Don't miss it.

Minikin Madness--Rad Art on Small Surfaces at Boxcar Gallery (Friday-Sunday, free) It's interesting to see what artists can do within tight restrictions, and this show will explore just that. Nearly 200 artists will show their work at this opening, and all of their pieces are inside 3x3-inch boxes. With submissions from all over the world, including international ones from places as far off as Turkey and Ireland, this will be an interesting show that promises to be a fascinating walk through. Forney's Hidden Treasures at the Forney Museum of Transportation (Saturday, $8) The Forney Museum of Transportation is always a great place to browse neat antique cars, locomotives, and other vehicles, and today they're digging through their vaults and opening up a special exhibit. Forney's Hidden Treasures will bring rare automobiles out of the vault and into public viewing, so this is a great chance to see some bizarre and beautiful old vehicles, check out the rest of the museum, and lament the ugly modern cars and long for a gorgeous antique auto. Tattered Cover Film Series: The Horse's Mouth at the Denver FilmCenter/Colfax (Sunday, free) One of the best ways to escape the heat is by ducking into a dark, air-conditioned movie theater. And luckily, you wont have to pay $10.50 for that luxury today; this screening of a 1958 classic is completely free. Based on the life of Dylan Thomas, this film follows an eccentric painter as he seeks to bring his artistic vision into reality. UCD film professor Melanie Brandt will lead a spirited Q&A and also give an introduction to the free flick.Justice League Pool Party at TAXI (Sunday, free) Finish of your summer with a swim today at this delicious pool party hosted by the Justice League of Street Food. Enjoy food trucks like Pinche Tacos, The Panna Cotta Peddler, and DipStik, tunes from DJ Eddie B, as well as a hula hoop contest and tons of drink specials.
