There's always some authority figure just waiting to crush a brilliant plan....

The folks at Wrigley's Chicago Bar & Grille, at 18200 W. Colfax Avenue in Golden, wanted to mark Jay Cutler's return to Denver for a preseason game this weekend against the Broncos with his new team, the Chicago Bears, by hosting a Cutler jersey-burning party this Saturday -- which is, to paraphrase Stephen Colbert, either a great idea or the greatest idea. But the Golden Fire Department has put a kibosh on the bash because the bar didn't get the proper permits. And while the decision to transform the event into a Cutler jersey-shredding party still sounds like fun (unless you paid $120 for the damn thing), the original concept was definitely hotter.
