Another Boulder crime involving nudity -- sort of

Boulder isn't free of serious law-breaking: As evidence, we submit the repulsive case of David McCoy, an amateur doctor and psychologist whose "trust-building exercises" allegedly involve medical examinations of certain areas generally kept private. But it's reassuring that the Boulder Police Department is able to devote so much manpower to investigating crimes that might receive only cursory attention in Denver. In the past week or so, for example, the BPD went out of its way to publicize an incident involving three people who walked away from the local Humane Society with a dachshund named Ferris. Not exactly the making of a great Law & Order episode. And now, officers are working overtime to nab a couple of guys accused of stealing stuff out of the locker room at the North Boulder Recreation Center. Because this twosome was smart enough not to swipe anything adorable, members of the community may not rise up in righteous indignation, as in Ferris' case. Still, folks in Boulder don't tolerate this kind of behavior. It's not P.C.

Police release photos of suspected locker room thieves

Boulder and Louisville police are investigating what they believe are four related reports of thefts from lockers at local athletic facilities. The first occurred on Saturday, Aug. 22, at about 2:45 p.m. at the Louisville Recreation Center, 900 W. Via Appia. The other three occurred later that same day, at approximately 4:50 p.m., at the North Boulder Recreation Center, 3170 Broadway. Investigators are asking for the public's help identifying and locating these suspects.

In the Boulder cases, the suspects stole items from numerous lockers. In at least one of the cases, a lock was cut off. Surveillance photos of the suspects were obtained as a result of security cameras in the North Boulder Recreation Center.
