Our post earlier this week about the gunfire in an Aurora neighborhood that killed one man and critically injured another, One man dead, another critical in 1400 North Lima triple shooting, elicited a number of comments about the city and its reputation.

One commenter, Tim Sparhawk, who lives near the area where the shooting took place had this to say:

Aurora is notoriously in the news for one thing or another, and very rarely for good reason. Ppl talk the same way about Compton Cal. or Chicago... Dangerous places, doesn't mean violence and crime don't happen in Lincoln Nebraska, it's just that they aren't making the news every week. It's just that Aurora walks like a duck and talks like a duck. I have no ill will with Aurora but it's just always that one city that's always making trouble.
