Update, 12:18 p.m. May 5: Earlier today, we told you about a woman found dead at a home on the 1900 block of East 35th Street. Afterward, the police took several people into custody but declined to describe any of them as suspects.
But that's changed for thirty-year-old Lavar Sillemon, the victim's son. He's being held on investigation of first-degree murder.
Thus far, Sillemon's mom isn't being identified by name, and the police have yet to release information about her cause of death. However, they have made available Sillemon's booking photo. See it below, followed by our previous coverage.
Original item, 10:05 a.m. May 5: About 4:20 p.m. yesterday, the Denver Police Department received a call in regard to a home on the 1900 block of East 35th Street. Phoning were relatives concerned about someone who lived there, and they had every reason to worry.A woman inside had become a homicide victim.
According to Denver Police Department spokesman Sonny Jackson, the woman was pronounced dead at the home and homicide investigators were called. Shortly thereafter, he says, a number of people were taken into custody -- "several witnesses as well as a couple people of interest. We're not calling them suspects at this time." Neither is he describing their relationship to the victim, although he does make reference to "domestic violence."
