Although this development isn't exactly front and center on Focus' most prominent sites, two of them offer indications that times are getting tighter. The home page of Focus on the Family Action, the outfit's political arm, isn't exactly brimming with new content: The most recent "Action Update" was posted in March, and the latest press release concerns the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor in early August. Up-front on the main Focus on the Family site, meanwhile, a "Give $5.00 Campaign" is spotlighted. The item's intro reads: "Like many of you, Focus on the Family is experiencing a financial challenge. You can help us today by simply giving a $5.00 gift. We appreciate your prayers and participation!" This blurb links to a video of Focus president/CEO Jim Daly, in which he first apologizes for his location -- "I'm at my garage right now, getting ready for the American Family Yard Sale" -- before making his donation pitch. "Maybe instead of getting a latte today, you might be able to donate $5 to Focus on the Family, to help families thrive."
Especially one Family in particular.
