But one reader thinks the event is considerably less risque than an annual happening that high schoolers attend with full knowledge of their folks.

Teen16 writes:

it is not illegal for an under 18 to wear lingerie, it is not illegal for under 18 to smoke non-tobacco. Prom night has more drinking, sex, drugs and parents still let teens go to it.
