JS Casting, the company running the casting call, says the Food Network "is looking for those with a captivating personality who believe they're at the top of the culinary game and want to inspire a Food Network audience through their passion for food and cooking."
Although nobody from Colorado has won a season of the show, which pits contestants against one another in such events as cooking with Kellogs products and heeding words of wisdom from Paula Deen, several regional contestants have gotten their shots at fame, including private chef and actor Shane Lyons from Colorado Springs (season four), and cook and radio host Howie Drummond from Highlands Ranch (season seven).
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Magnolia Hotel downtown. If you're unable to make it then (or unwilling to stand in line for hours with a bunch of other budding Giadas and Altons), you can also send a video of yourself hamming it up with ham and squawking about squab. Instructions on what to put in your video and where to send it can be found on the JS Casting website. Now go stand in front of a mirror and practice yelling "Yumm-o" and "Off the chain!"
