Anthony Martin was apprehended by Sergeant Doug Wiggins of the Wheatland Police Department, Wyoming. Anthony Martin was arrested at a friend's home in the 2200 block of W. Ponderosa St., Wheatland, WY. Martin initially hid in the home, but surrendered shortly after being detected at the home by Sergeant Wiggins.Continue for our previous coverage.The Boulder County District Attorney's Office and the Boulder County Sheriff's Department will coordinate his extradition to Colorado.
Martin was wanted on multiple charges related to a domestic violence assault at his home in the 200 block of Bowen St. on November 7, 2014 at approximately 5:00 p.m. During a child exchange with his ex-wife at his home, in the presence of his children, ages 10 and 6, he drug his ex-wife into the home and violently assaulted her and strangled her. The victim (age 38) was seriously injured and required emergency care at the Medical Center of the Rockies. She has since been released and is recovering at an undisclosed location. Martin fled Longmont shortly after this crime.
Martin is facing charges of felony menacing, 2nd deg. kidnapping, 2nd deg. assault, 3rd deg. assault, child abuse and several other charges.
Please note: There is also a charge of sexual assault. This charge will show up on the warrant, but we would ask in order to protect the victim, that this information be redacted from any press coverage.
The Longmont Police Department is very thankful for the assistance provided by the dispatch center in Wheatland and the Wheatland Police Department. This was a very serious crime and we are thankful to have him in-custody.
Original post, 8:50 a.m. November 10: At this writing, law enforcement agencies throughout the area are on the lookout for 37-year-old Anthony Martin. Why? He allegedly assaulted and strangled his ex-wife in front of the couples' kids before vanishing. Continue for photos, details and more.

...and another: He's also had at least one brush with the law, as witnessed by the mug shot at the bottom of this post.Regarding the latest incident, Longmont Police Department Commander Jeff Satur tells us it took place at around 5 p.m. on Friday, November 7, on the 200 block of Bowen Street. "Essentially, his ex-wife came over to do an exchange with the kids," Satur says. "And he dragged her into the house, assaulted her, strangled her and threatened her."
Fortunately, he continues, "she was able to get to a neighbors and he fled...and he did not take the kids." She was hospitalized for treatment of the injuries she sustained but has since been released.
Martin is thought to be driving a four-door Mercedes that's silver in color, although Satur says it looks white in the dark. Its license plate reads 258PUQ.
"He's still at large," Satur stresses. "We've been getting tips, but so far, nothing's been successful. And we'd sure like to get him picked up."
