The Denver Athletic Club will play host to the World as a Classroom, a dinner benefiting Denver Public School students tonight at 6 p.m. This dinner will raise scholarship money to send Denver Public Schools students on travel, language immersion, community service and cultural exchange experiences around the globe. The keynote speaker is Jamie Van Leeuwen, senior advisor to Governor John Hickenlooper and founder and CEO of the Global Livingston Institute. Women's Partnership Market and Resilient Futures International are co-hosting Funk for Ghana, a fundraiser with funk band Atomga tonight at the Armoury; proceeds will benefit projects to build sustainability in the Ekumfi-Arkrah Village in Ghana. The party starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $30 in advance; $35 at the door. Find out more here.
