The weather outside isn’t quite frightful, but don't let that stop you from coming up with just the right event that will inevitably lead to cozying up with that special someone by the fire. If you need some inspiration to get started, here are five holiday-themed Denver date ideas.

5) Hammond’s Candy Cane Festival
Friday and Saturday, December 11 and 12
5735 Washington Street
Free

Here’s the perfect opportunity to dress up in matching holiday sweaters, kiss in a Photobooth and feed each other sweets. The fourteenth annual Hammond’s Candy Cane Festival runs over two days, so there’s plenty of time to taste-test candy and then make out in a horse-drawn carriage. Bonus points if you get the chance to kick the kiddos out of the bounce house for a private session. Sweet!

4) Denver Santa Speedo Dash
Saturday, December 12
Mead Street Station, 3625 West 32nd Avenue
$35
Say hello to the perfect first date. You may as well get all the awkwardness out of the way and see each other half-naked while wearing Santa hats at the fourth annual Denver Santa Speedo Dash. Tell your Tinder date you want to do something active and also for a good cause; this events benefits Life Is Better Rescue. If that's not heart-warming enough, there's plenty of “liquid courage” involved in this event, so you’ll be warmed up and ready to go at the end of the race.

3) BALLS! A Holiday Spectacular
Monday, December 14
Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret, 1601 Arapahoe Street
$22
If you’ve ever wanted to wear sock puppets and drunkenly sing along to Christmas carols, this is your last chance. BALLS! A Holiday Spectacular is in its seventh and final year, and it’s the perfect show for a first date or your long-term babe. The event will feature guest performances from local musicians, DJs and even Kirk Montgomery. Grab your tickets soon, as this will surely sell out.

2) XXX-Mas Craft Festival
Friday, December 18
MCA Denver, 1485 Delgany Street
$5 admission for non-MCA Denver members, free for members
There’s something special about decorating a Christmas tree with your significant other, and there’s something even more special when your ornaments are cutouts of breasts. MCA Denver is hosting XXX-Mas Craft Festival, and it will help you get creative with copies of Playboy and Penthouse. When you're done making naked elves, there will still be holiday drink specials and free gift wrapping, so you can knock off some Christmas shopping.

1) Blossoms of Light and Trail of Lights
December 11 through January 2
Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York Street
Chatfield Farms, 8500 West Deer Canyon Road, Littleton
$11-$14 per person
Get lit for the holidays! Either of these light displays are classy date options. What's more romantic than walking through Blossoms of Light at the Denver Botanic Gardens, a cup of hot chocolate in hand? And if a holiday hay ride sounds romantic, head to Chatfield Farms for the Trail of Lights. Be sure to get to there before December 20 if you want to take a picture with Santa for your couple’s Christmas card.
