5 Year Anniversary

It's always fun to kick off the weekend with some suds, especially when they're celebratory suds. For the fifth anniversary of Copper Kettle, the brewery has created an internal competition to release five new brews. In addition to trying them and then voting for the winner, you can enjoy live music from The Acoustic Mining Company and special treats from the J Street Food Truck and Smoke: Colorado Craft Barbecue. Open your wallet to buy limited-edition bottle releases and commemorative glasses as well.

AwareHouse is Denver's newest artist community, and it's throwing one hell of a party tonight. Fifteen artists will fill the space with work for your viewing pleasure, and there will also be beats by Tr33s and Scum Artist. Look for a handful of vendors including the Denver Fashion Truck, as well as ice-cold beer.

Taking the train to the plane is now a reality in our city, and that's reason to celebrate. You can ride the train for free today to see what it's like; all the stations from Union Station to Denver International Airport will play host to a variety of events. Failure Fair

Find out what the future of America looks like at the Failure Fair scholarship competition at MCA Denver today. The twelve finalists will present their risk-taking innovations at an event that's a mashup of science fair, TED Talk and Shark Tank. At the end of the day, a lucky few will divvy up $20,000 in scholarship money, including the $10,000 grand prize.

Get some shopping done at this event featuring over 150 local vendors and artisans; everything from soap to pickles will be available for your browsing pleasure. And there will be plenty of food items, crafty cocktails and special beer tappings from New Belgium to please your palate. Grab your ticket online for a free beverage. 

Doors Open Denver

Pack a year's worth of culture into a single weekend as you visit buildings housing everything from gardening to jazz dance. Union Station will serve as the main hub of Doors Open Denver, but places like the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center, Governor’s Residence, Ellie Caulkins Opera House and almost seventy other structures will be wide open.  You can also pay $10 to take insider tours of a variety of neighborhoods, houses and performance spaces; check out the guide here to start exploring.

 
African Culture Night

We're not just celebrating African culture tonight — we're becoming active participants. Dust off your djembes and join in the drum lessons, enjoy a performance by the Mokomba Ensemble, dance and learn some new stories. Alcohol will be served, but the night's geared to kids, too.

Now that you're an adult, you can buy all the toys you want, including an Atomic Energy Lab kit. Some of the items at this show made their debut in the 1930s and some are brand-new, but there's definitely something for everyone heere. You can get in for free if you're dressed up as a cosplayer. 
Game of Thrones Trivia, Costume Contest and Premiere

It's finally back for its sixth season, and the Game of Thrones premiere is going to be way more fun with trivia and costumes. Join your fellow Thronies and find out the fate of Jon Snow. This might be April, but winter is still coming.

If it's the last Sunday of the month, it's time to head to Lannie's for comedy. Tonight you can enjoy legendary local joke-maker Phil Palisoul.
