A couple of fun openings highlighted this week's restaurant news, with the much-anticipated Mas Kaos putting tacos and pizza under one roof on Tennyson Street and Korean barbecue Dae Gee getting the tabletop grills going at its third location on Broadway. But more sobering news came early in the week when a fire broke out in the apartment above Rosenberg's Bagels & Deli in Five Points. One person was found dead in the apartment, and Rosenberg's could face extensive repairs before it can reopen. The outpouring of community support is already evident on the deli's Facebook page.

Several other eateries shuttered for good this week, including Big Country's Bar-B-Que in Sunnyside; Viand, in the former home of La Fondue on 15th Street downtown; and the Colorado Boulevard outpost of health-food chain Protein Bar.
