Ten Things to Do in Denver for $10 or Less (Six Free), May 20-22

It's a party, party weekend all over the city, from Civic Center Park — site of the rescheduled 4/20 rally — to Five Points to Stapleton. Across Denver, you can listen to music, laugh at comics, watch movies, drink beer and celebrate Colorado's more recreational industries. Colorado Dragon Film Festival

Friday-Sunday, $8-10 per program
The Dragon Boat Festival moves to dry land for this new film weekend coinciding with the May celebration of Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders. Enjoy anime, documentaries and features including Wolf Children, Winning Girl, Awesome Asian Bad Guys and many more. Check out the program and plan your weekend. 

SPELLS & Hooper Cassette Release Party
Ratio Beerworks
7 p.m. Friday, free
Celebrate American Craft Beer Week at Ratio, where you can also celebrate the cassette single release from local rock heroes SPELLS and Hooper. That's two exclusive tracks, plenty of jams and a boatload of beer on a Friday night.

Alphabeat Soup #10: The monthly begins

This beat-based music night has been taken for a few spins, but tonight's performances kicks off a regularly scheduled program, with new electronic music every third Friday of the month. Tonight you can enjoy the computer stylings of GODLAZER, MYTHirst, Furbie Cakes and Thought Lost Thought.

Head to Leon for a special Bluebook performance in honor of Jaimie Gershen and Douglas Spencer's exhibition The Shadow Knows. Bluebook is Julie Davis’s haunting analog-electro project, offering new songs and old from each of her former projects — Bela Karoli, Fairchildren and the Seven Hats. With a stage setup designed to fit snugly in the back of a station wagon, Bluebook aspires to cross-country trips connected by shows in second-rate motel lounges, Leon promises.

4/20 Rally
Civic Center Park
10 a.m. Saturday, free
While last month's 4/20 Rally (actually slated for 4/16) was snowed out, we can guarantee that this show will go on. And what a show: Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne playing for over 100,000 cannabis enthusiasts. Plan to spend a day in the park, chatting with friends, visiting the displays of 250 vendors, listening to more musical acts and then joining in the 4:20 celebration. Admission is free, but front-row and backstage passes are available for $50 and $150; find out more here. (Wiz Khalifa will be at the Nativ Hotel afterward for a no-cover after-party.)

Five Points Jazz Festival
Five Points
10 a.m. Saturday, free
The Five Points neighborhood might be changing, but jazz has always been a constant here. Today the music spills out onto the street, where several blocks of Welton will get the blues, get down with the funk, and tango with those Latin notes. Vendors and food trucks will add to the fun. After you catch jazz in Five Points, head east to Stapleton for more live jams from members of the Rapidgrass Quintet and Dragondeer. Local vendors, beer booths and food trucks will be on hand. See the schedule here.
Denver Filmmakers Collective Presents The Stones We Throw & This Is a Mistake

Show some love for the members of the Denver Filmmakers Collective when they present short films from Olivia Carmel, Chase Bortz, Joshua Allen LaBure and Zachary Gutierrez; you can also get a closer look at the documentary Isabelle Road, by Holly Hursley, and a music video by Joseph Kolean. The filmmakers will be on hand to talk about their craft.
Margaret Rorison in Person

Welcome Margaret Rorison, an artist and curator from Baltimore, to Denver for this in-person series hosted by Glob. Rorison crafts 16mm short films that take an intimate look at human memory, and her work has been shown at festivals across the country. Back home, she works with the Sight Unseen microcinema; hear all about her artistic approach to film at this intimate event.

Uncalled Four: A Comedy Game Show presented by Sexpot Comedy
Bug Theater
10 p.m. Saturday, donations
The card game that brings out the worst in everyone returns to the stage for a very special free engagement tonight. It's dirty, rotten and almost wrong, but that's why we love it. Check out comedians Allison Rose, Don Morgan, Adam Mamawala and Adrian Mesa playing a live variation of Cards Against Humanity. The audience is also up to win prizes, and when the show is sponsored by Illegal Pete's, Denver Relief and Sexy Pizza, you know you're in for some good stuff.
