Let's take a moment to remember the late, great Bill Cunningham, who passed away last week at 85, an inspiration to the fashion and art world who photographed fashionistas all over New York. Many believe Cunningham was the grandfather of street style; we certainly follow his lead when we attempt to capture the essence of the stylish here in Denver.

Last Saturday, the 22nd annual Westword Music Showcase transformed the Golden Triangle into a giant block party, spanning more than a dozen stages and venues. The crowd sported many takes on festival chic, and we spotted one of the best looks at 11th Avenue and Broadway. Nurse practitioner Jennifer Garber looked cool and collected; we stopped to chat with her about her fashion inspiration and where she shops.Garber describes her style as "fun, funky and feminine," and we couldn't agree more. The colorful pop-art pattern on her dress features such summer snacks as popsicles, popcorn and hot dogs in a comic-book style. To make the outfit even more fun, Garber pairs this dress with killer accessories that pack a punch: yellow pearls, red shades, purple shoes and teal leather bag.

Garber's dress is by Folter and was a find at Modcloth. The bag  was purchased at local boutique Starlet. The colorful leather shoes are by John Fluevog, a staple for fine footwear in Larimer Square, and the red sunglasses by Face a Face. Here's more from Garber:

Style inspirations and icons: "Movies, magazines, catalogues, fashion websites, people-watching."

Shops at: "Starlet, John Fluevog, Modcloth and True Love for shoes."

Favorite band at the Westword Music Showcase: "Matt and Kim"
Favorite color: "Teal."

Favorite accessory:
 "Shoes."

Summer anthem: "Lose It," by Oh Wonder.

Don't be afraid to crank up the heat with your street style, Denver.
