http://www.pumphousebrewery.com This local brewpub is one of the best hangout spots in Longmont. The beers are a big reason why: Pumphouse has a dozen or so beers on tap, everything from Flashpoint IPA and Shockwave Scottish Ale to special seasonal beers. But the food is also a real draw, with a menu that includes appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches and an astonishing array of burgers. You can get the spicy Flame Thrower (habanero-chipotle sauce, sauteed jalapenos and gorgonzola), the Chumley's Classic (a basic cheeseburger), or an all-natural chicken or buffalo, house-ground turkey or garden burger instead. http://www.road34.com Originally a bike shop that opened in 2003, Road 34 morphed into a bike bar two years later, making it the first true bike bar in the world, according to its website. By bikes, we mean bicycles, which the spot still sells and has hanging from the ceiling. Road 34 is also a deli, tavern and a happening spot for live music in Fort Collins, bringing in a steady stream of local bands and acts from other parts of the state, as well as the occasional national act. http://www.myspace.com/surfside7 Though the Hawaii Five-0 surf motif is mercilessly flogged here -- with surfboards festooned with pictures and a tiki-hut bar -- Surfside 7 offers some of the hippest rock and punk music this side of 1979. The place is tightly packed and loud, with friendly punks spilling out of the booths at all hours. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
The Swing Station feels like the type of place you'd find in the middle of nowhere -- which is exactly where it's located. Its down-home feeling is accentuated by a bright pine bar with ample seating. In fact, the whole bar is covered in bright colors, a welcome change from the usual dark atmosphere found in most venues. It's a traditional cowboy honky-tonk, with live, classic Americana music at least five nights a week on an outdoor stage during the summer and an indoor stage for the winter months. It's not unusual to spot cowboy boots or a ten-gallon hat, and it likewise wouldn't be surprising to see a horse tied up outside. The Swing Station is also a community hangout, and one of the few bars where children are welcome and don't seem out of place. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.oskarblues.com/restaurant/tasty-weasel-tap-room It’s no surprise that Oskar Blues, one of the most beloved craft breweries in the state, is responsible for the Tasty Weasel Tap Room, one of the most beloved tap rooms in Colorado. Between the tournament-style Skee-Ball lanes (there are regular team sign-ups for tournaments), the frequent live music, free daily tours of the brewery facilities, free Wi-Fi, the Tasty Weasel’s very own food truck (the Oskar Blues BoneWagon) and the whiskey-barrel bar tables, there are many reasons that people flock to this tap room. But the biggest one, of course, is the beer, including twice-weekly releases of small-batch Oskar Blues brews that you can’t find anywhere except for the Tasty Weasel. And the loyalty-club perks alone justify the trip to Longmont. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
