http://www.barlouieamerica.com Long a staple in the Midwest, the Bar Louie chain has landed in Colorado. At the Shops at Northfield, Bar Louie is the perfect spot for a mid-shopping beer; it also makes a great holding pen for husbands waiting out a long run by their significant others. The menu features such bar standards as wings and burgers, but Bar Louie separates itself from other national behemoths by featuring an all-day brunch, a late-night kitchen and many deals throughout the week, especially on Sunday. With an indoor fire pit, flat screen tvs and the occasional live band, Bar Louie has something for everyone. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.buffaloboyds.com Buffalo Boyd's, a no-frills neighborhood spot in Parker, is a fairly tame joint during the week, but the smallish place ― and its tiny dance floor ― can get packed on the weekends. The bar, which feels like it hasn't been updated in a few decades, caters to a wide variety of regulars. Among its amenities are pool, pinball, Golden Tee, a number of flat-screen TVs and a decent-sized smoking patio. The menu includes standard bar fare like burgers, wings, stuffed jalapenos, nachos, steak and ribs. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.castlebarandgrill.com With signed jerseys of John Elway, Terrell Davis and Chauncey Billups hanging up in glass cases around the bar, it's pretty obvious that the Castle's owners are serious about sports. And with a 103-inch high-definition projector screen and nine hi-def flat-screens, there aren't many spots where you can miss the action. But while sports are a big draw here, a lot of folks frequent the place for live music and karaoke on the weekends, and poker and trivia during the week. The Castle, which was once a Waffle House, and Punch & Judy's after that, also serves some decent pub grub like burgers, sandwiches and Mexican food. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.celtichousepub.com Once you step inside the Celtic House Pub, it's fairly easy to forget that you're in a strip mall in Parker, as one of the focal points of the place is a back bar that was built in 1895 by the Brunswick Corporation. The comfy Irish pub's lived-in, friendly feel attracts repeat customers, who come back for a decent selection of brews on tap, including Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks, Kilkenny and Magners. In addition to pub staples like shepherd's pie, fish and chips, and beef and Guinness stew, the Celtic House also serves beef and chicken sliders and wings. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
Clavin's Bar & Grill opened in September of 2011. The spot is named after Cliff Clavin, the popular postman on Cheers (the owner's name happens to be Cliff as well). Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.columbinelounge.com Not to be confused with the Columbine Steakhouse & Lounge on Federal, the Columbine Lounge in Littleton is mostly a sports bar that brings in live music on the weekends. While it can get fairly lively during those weekend sets, there’s also a colorful group of regulars who frequent the spot during the week. The menu is standard bar fare with a good selection of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and pizzas, as well as prime rib two days a week. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.comedyworks.com After running the Comedy Works downtown -- which some consider one of the finest comedy clubs in the nation -- for nearly two decades, Wende Curtis opened the Landmark location in October 2008. While the downtown club brings in the younger, hipper and edgier comics, Comedy Works South generally brings in the slightly cleaner, nationally known acts. This 21,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility, which also includes a restaurant and a martini bar, is an upgrade on the downtown location, and the comedy theater holds nearly twice as many people. The venue is also available for private functions, including business meetings, reunions and wedding parties. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.coolrivercafe.com Deep in the heart of the Tech Center, the upscale and spacious Cool River Cafe provides a respite for young and not-so-young urban professionals to enjoy a few drinks after the workday. A steak-and-seafood-laden menu gives patrons a reason to linger after happy hour. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
Dubb's Pub offers karaoke Thursdays through Saturdays -- and plenty of room to stretch out and listen. On a stretch of South Broadway that features car dealerships and dispensaries, the crowd inside Dubb's is likely to contain more than a few mullets and muffin tops. Still, that's part of the joint's charm. Grab a drink and a seat, and get ready to hear some very unique versions of Johnny Cash, Bon Jovi and Fleetwood Mac as the devoted karaoke crowd does it their way. Just a few blocks south of the Gothic Theatre, this sports bar is spacious enough to pack in quite a few sports enthusiasts, whether it be football or NASCAR fans. It's a step above a dive and big enough to have enough space wherever you're sitting. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.mccoolsbar.com/index.html Since it's on Arapahoe Road just off I-25 in Centennial, Finn McCool's is a lively spot to either wait out rush-hour traffic or visit later in the evening -- especially on Tuesdays, for one of the best karaoke nights in the Denver Tech Center area. Mainly a sports bar, Finn McCool's has enough TVs to watch a game or UFC matches in most areas of the bar, as well as having beer pong, pool and foosball tables. The menu includes a decent selection of bar food, from wings and potato skins to pizza, sandwiches, burgers and sliders. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.buffbrothers.net With more than forty TVs spread around this Parker bar, it's clear that FuNuGyz is serious about sports. And with DirecTV packages like NFL Sunday, NHL Center Ice and others, chances are that if there's a sporting event you want to watch, you'll find it at FuNuGyz, even the UFC fights. Since the place is so spacious, there are usually a few places where you can carve out your own spot for the afternoon to watch a game. Framed Broncos jerseys and other memorabilia hang on the walls, and there are a number of pool tables. During the week, FuNuGyz offers karaoke, poker and trivia nights, as well as Wii bowling and Guitar/DJ Hero. The menu includes a variety of wings, appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, Mexican food, soups and salads. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.illegalpetes.com Colorado is known for its homegrown big-burrito chains. Illegal Pete's isn't the largest, but it's big on flavor, with a wide-ranging menu that includes everything from standard chicken- and carnitas-based burritos to versions with fish or potatoes as the main event. The ingredients are all carefully balanced before the burrito is wrapped, ensuring that you won't get any bites of just rice or only sour cream. The casual atmosphere might lure you into sticking around for one more beer; it's no surprise that each and every Illegal Pete's outpost is a favorite hangout for somebody. http://www.indulgewinebar.com The view from Indulge Wine Bar is stunning, a sweeping panorama of the Foothills, best taken in while sipping a glass of red or white from the loungey patio. Inside, the space is sleek and modern, a romantic spot that sees a regular crowd of suburban neighbors packing the bar and tables. Indulge offers over thirty wines by the glass, paired to a fairly extensive lunch and dinner menu. While the offerings include a long list of tapas, there are entrees, too. And the dessert list, replete with cakes, is nearly as generous. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
http://www.jdsbaitshop.com If you prefer to enjoy your game-time beers surrounded by aquariums and high-definition televisions, or if you're looking for a spot to enjoy pre-concert drinks before heading to Comfort Dental Amphitheatre, JD's Bait Shop has got you covered. As the name suggests, it's not exactly a high-brow place: The atmosphere is semi-divey, the menu features mostly fried food, and the abundance of games here, from shuffleboard to darts to foosball, will keep those who aren't held glued to the televisions occupied. There's no pretension at JD's, and when you visit, you'll get exactly what's advertised: a comfortable place to hang out and get wrapped up in whatever sports are in season while enjoying the atmosphere of like-minded sports-and-beer lovers. http://www.lodosbarandgrill.com Lodo's is renowned for its stunning rooftop bar, within throwing distance of Coors Field, and its cheap drinks. But it also deserves praise for its sizable menu, which offers something for everyone, including such off-the-beaten-path (or at least baby steps off the beaten path) selections like Kobe beef sliders, turkey served on a pretzel roll, and ahi tuna on wonton crisps. Want to really enjoy the Rockies? Watch the ballpark from prime patio seating here while you down a burger and beer, and thumb your nose at the hapless crowd surging toward you when the game lets out. The bar also has locations in Highlands Ranch and Westminster, helping to bring a bit of LoDo to the 'burbs. Read more about this Denver bar or club >>
It's a bit hard to gauge what's beyond the darkly tinted front windows, but this nondescript Englewood dive has a pretty cool interior. Although the walls are lined with photos of Denver sports legends, it's not your typical sports bar with TVs blasting; you're more likely to hear some of the regulars talking about local teams. The Gothic Theatre sits just a few blocks south; the Magnet's friendly bartenders, cheap yet strong drinks, pool tables and dartboards make it an ideal spot for catching a pre- or post-show drink. http://www.moesdenver.com Moe's Original Bar-B-Que is a Colorado-based chain started by out-of-state transplants, Mike Fernandez, Ben Gilbert and Jeff Kennedy, who met at the University of Alabama and opened up a carry-out barbecue joint at the base of Vail Mountain during the 2002-03 ski season. That little spot has grown into more than a dozen restaurants across the country, including three in the metro area. After the fading Sport Bowl Lanes & Billiards ran its course, Gothic Theatre owner Steve Schalk transformed the space into the Falcon, a sci-fi themed music venue/bowling alley named after the Millennium Falcon. About a year later, the Moe's BBQ guys opened up shop there and the Falcon and Moe's BBQ were one. The hot-pit meats include pulled pork, smoked chicken, smoked turkey, shrimp, catfish, chicken wings and ribs. The traditional sides (baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad) are supplemented by rotating sides-of-the-day specials. This particular Moe's includes a small bowling alley, where you can knock down pins while you scarf down 'cue, as well as to-die-for smoked tofu for the vegetarians in the crowd.
