Tea Pot Lounge

Tea Pot Lounge

I looked at about a dozen different flowers, including a beautifully frosty and sweet Black Ice OG, some decent Super Silver Haze and the same Super Silver Haze/OG cross dubbed Kizzle that the Cannasseur developed.
Groundswell

Groundswell

Some cuts looked better than others, like the NYC Diesel and the Berry Skunk, but most looked well-dried and cured -- healthy buds from a medium-sized warehouse.
Top Shelf Alternatives

Top Shelf Alternatives

Top Shelf Alternatives also had two special strains, Blacktooth Grin and Lavender, at $15 per gram all the way up. I got a good look at both, and neither seemed to be of any better quality than the rest of the items on the shelf.

    Cannabis Station

    1201 20th St. Denver, CO 80205
    303-297-9333

http://rockymountainhigh.co Cannabis Station took over an old automobile service station and has consciously held onto its past. For example, the old sign out front that once displayed prices for gallons of diesel now shows prices for ounces of Sour Diesel, and an artist has incorporated a few red Mobil Pegasus icons. The waiting room has a '70s vibe, and the shop offers vintage-style clothing, collectibles and housewares as well as herb, edibles, pipes and papers. For the most part, it feels like a lounge or hangout space for a bunch of gear-head stoners. Overall, it has the makings of a really cool cannabis shop: a great downtown location, solid pricing and a fun atmosphere. More >>

  • CannaMart

    CannaMart

    3700 W. Quincy Ave. Denver, CO 80236
    303-734-0420

http://cannamart.com Cannamart doesn't seem to be offering quite the variety of strains it did during its medical-only days, but that just means that instead of forty-plus options on the shelves, you're looking at approximately two dozen –- still not too shabby. There's still a solid mix of heady top-shelf nugs, plus some lower-grade selections that aren't quite as crystal-laden; you'll also find edibles, vaporizers and refills, tinctures and more. Located at the corner of Quincy Avenue and Lowell Boulevard, it's in a strip mall that doesn't see a whole lot of action apart from pot-seekers pulling into and out of the parking lot all day long. A sparse waiting room includes a television for anyone who simply must catch the last few minutes of the game before heading into the dispensary proper, and the staff is friendly and happy to help novices and veterans alike with cannabis selections. The specials on shatter and other extracts are particularly noteworthy. More >>

  • The Cannasseur

41 Precision Dr. Pueblo, CO 81007
    719-647-8924

http://cannasseur.co Pueblo has become a haven for cannabis-lovers in the southern part of the state, and the Cannasseur is one of the dispensaries that have helped put the town on the (weed) map. Serving both recreational and medical patients, the outlet is known for offering a wide array of strains (about fifty at any given time), including some top-shelf flower, plus plenty of edible options, and even some tinctures and concentrates. The Cannasseur also has a viewing room so that customers can watch plants growing; there's a 10,000-square-foot greenhouse and an extraction lab on site. More >>

  • Caregivers for Life of Cherry Creek

Caregivers for Life of Cherry Creek

310 St. Paul St. Denver, CO 80206
    720-536-5462

http://caregiversforlife.net Caregivers for Life occupies a Cherry Creek North location, tucked away in the back of what looks to be an old apartment or condo complex. There's a low-key sign out front with a porch just begging for patients to puff there -- if the laws ever change in the cannabis user's favor. The lobby is clean and professional but still comfortable, with a flat-screen television and a cozy puffy white couch. The bud bar occupies a large space just behind the lobby, and strains are arranged according to a simple shelf system. Give yourself time to browse the strains, because you might want to take home everything in the cabinet; Caregivers for Life cuts have won prizes in various cannabis tournaments during the past few years, including the High Times Cup, the Boulder Cup and the Mile High Cup. The shop has only gotten better over the years, the herb transitioning from decently grown warehouse buds to some real lookers and sniffers. Citi-Med

    1640 E. Evans Ave. Denver, CO 80210
    303-975-6485

http://denversdispensary.com Citi-Med is in a small East Evans strip center that has served for years as a second cafeteria to University of Denver students, with the original Chipotle on one end and an Anthony's Pizza on the other. Inside, the shop is small; the front half is a little waiting room with a couch and leather chairs set up facing each other and a flat-screen TV hanging on the green wall. At the bud bar, you'll find more than twenty strains, which the shop says are all grown organically in-house. The mission of the dispensary is to provide a higher level of care, and that's what you'll find, from the personalized attention to the quality of the offerings (which include edibles, extracts, wax and oil). Employees are friendly and remember repeat customers. Read our full dispensary review of Citi-Med. More >>

  • The Clinic Capitol Hill

    The Clinic Capitol Hill

    745 E. 6th Ave. Denver, CO 80203
    720-536-5229

http://thecliniccolorado.com The Clinic has won more than twenty awards for its cannabis, concentrates and charitable contributions, and in 2013, the dispensary chain opened up some of its stores to recreational customers. This centrally located site on Sixth Avenue was one of the first Clinic stores to offer pot to the general public -- and the general public was excited to see that happen, because the Clinic is renowned for having some of the highest-quality meds around (and one of the widest selections, to boot). On the corner of Clarkson and Sixth, there's a parking lot for patient convenience and plenty of sticky goodness inside. Since the genesis of medical marijuana in Denver, the Clinic has been one of the go-to spots for high quality and knowledgeable budtenders; there are very few dispensaries that measure up to the selection and quality available at the Clinic. The prices reflect that bump in quality, but customers seeking the headiest nugs won't complain, because they'll get what they pay for. More >>

    The Clinic Colorado

    3888 E. Mexico Ave. Denver, CO 80222
    303-758-9114

http://thecliniccolorado.com The Clinic has won more than twenty awards for its cannabis, concentrates and charitable contributions. The space even feels somewhat homey -- though not in that weird, "What am I doing in this person's home?" kind of way. Of its several Denver-area outposts, the Mexico Avenue location was the first Clinic to cater to recreational clients. Price breakdowns are available for the ganja; a smaller board lists prices for hash and kief. The bud case holds about twenty strains of herb separated into sativa and indica types, as well as a handful of strains of hash and hash oil; a smaller shelf up top has the dispensary picks, including some Ice Princess and that Sour D. Since the genesis of medical marijuana in Denver, the Clinic has been one of the go-to spots for high quality and knowledgeable budtenders; there are very few dispensaries that measure up to the selection and quality available here. The prices reflect that bump in quality, but customers seeking the headiest nugs won't complain, because they'll get what they pay for. More >>

    303-997-7130

http://thecliniccolorado.com The Clinic's Highland location is in an adorable modified home on 32nd Avenue; it looks just like one of the cute, locally owned boutiques that flourish in the neighborhood, but an entirely different kind of local product is available for purchase. The Clinic has won more than twenty awards for its cannabis, concentrates and charitable contributions, and in 2013, the dispensary chain opened up some of its stores to recreational customers. The Highland spot was one of the first Clinic stores to offer pot to the general public -- and the general public was excited to see that happen, because the Clinic is renowned for having some of the highest-quality meds around (and one of the widest selections, to boot).
