Tea Pot Lounge

Tea Pot Lounge

I looked at about a dozen different flowers, including a beautifully frosty and sweet Black Ice OG, some decent Super Silver Haze and the same Super Silver Haze/OG cross dubbed Kizzle that the Cannasseur developed.
Groundswell

Groundswell

Some cuts looked better than others, like the NYC Diesel and the Berry Skunk, but most looked well-dried and cured -- healthy buds from a medium-sized warehouse.
Top Shelf Alternatives

Top Shelf Alternatives

Top Shelf Alternatives also had two special strains, Blacktooth Grin and Lavender, at $15 per gram all the way up. I got a good look at both, and neither seemed to be of any better quality than the rest of the items on the shelf.

http://thctheherbalcenter.com Located on South Broadway, the Herbal Center's small waiting lounge is sectioned off by brightly colored, gaudy plastic circles and hoops hanging from the walls and ceilings. The bud bar feels cluttered thanks to numerous cabinets, a flat-screen television, all of those plastic circles, and two or three budtenders milling around. The space is loud, dramatically lit and filled with generic cannabis smells. For the most part, the bud selection is standard warehouse dispensary fare, although some buds are better than others. The main draw for the Herbal Center is its highly visible spot at one of Denver's more famously green street corners, which the low prices validate. But there are a few strains worth the trip down Broadway, and you'll save a few bucks. Read our full dispensary review of the Herbal Center. More >>

http://herbs4youdenver.com Inside, Herbs4You could be the front office for just about any small, private business. Stock office furniture and couches occupy the small, forgettable waiting room, and the only indications that you're in a medical marijuana dispensary are the name of the shop, the secured entryway, and the dozens of Amsterdam-related items hung on the otherwise bare white walls. The shop is clean, very clean -- OCD clean, even. When we visited, the glass was unsmudged, the waiting room was spotless and organized, and the entire shop was brightly lit and welcoming. Indicas are in a glass counter on the left, and sativas are in a counter on the right. Herb is kept in screw-top jars, and everything is well-stocked, so it's easy to get a look at the buds from a distance. And while a good amount of the selection is forgettable, it's worth checking out the shop for those three or four strains being done right. Read our full dispensary review of Herbs4You. More >>

http://hlhcolorado.com Both branches of High Level Health (the other is on Lincoln) are almost identical -- mirror images of each other in the way the small storefront space has been laid out. The decor in both is no-frills industrial, with corrugated tin covering the half wall between the waiting room/receptionist area and the bud bar, exposed HVAC vents, and bare, brown-stained concrete floors. The shops are also notable for founder Jim Rice, who was featured on the reality-TV game show Survivor in 2011. He didn't win the game, but he was one of the more talked-about contestants, not only for his intense playing style, but also for his unusual career. Both stores get a lot of walk-in traffic due to their settings on pedestrian-heavy streets. Both the selection and the quality of product available are atypical for such a small shop, which can be a pleasant surprise for those dropping in, and staff members are friendly and able to answer questions about the potency and healing qualities of each strain. http://hlhcolorado.com Both branches of High Level Health (the other is on East Colfax) are almost identical mirror images of each other in the way the small storefront space has been laid out. The decor in both is no-frills industrial, with corrugated tin covering the half wall between the waiting room/receptionist area and the bud bar, exposed HVAC vents, and bare, brown-stained concrete floors. Both stores get a lot of walk-in traffic due to their settings on pedestrian-heavy streets. The hash selection is decent, with BHO by the gram and well-made, waxy ice-water hash. The pricing on THC-infused foods tends to be on the lower end compared with other dispensaries, although selection isn't the greatest. The staff is always nice, the place is clean and doesn't feel sketchy, and there's a cap for medical-patient pricing. Read our full dispensary review of High Level Health. More >>

  • High Street Growers

330 Federal Blvd. Denver, CO 80219
    720-583-0194

Despite the reputation for sketchiness that often surrounds businesses on Federal Boulevard, the waiting area of High Street Growers gives the dispensary a high-end feel, with a large flat-screen television, comfortable and plush furniture, and stacks of glossy magazines to help pass the time. There isn't a huge selection of strains, but High Street Growers offers enough variety that you may need some time to look through what's available. There are also drinks, edibles, topicals and salves to help supplement your flower needs, plus a handful of clones and pre-rolls that (with discounts) you can buy with the change hiding under the seat of your car. http://ivitawellness.com iVita's building is a strange, one-story commercial job from the '60s that's been brightened up from the outside with a coat of neutral tan paint and a spraypainted mural of a blue, elfin creature releasing a handful of butterflies. The waiting room is open and cool, with light-wood floors and earthy green-and-gray paint. Compared to the front waiting area, the bud bar seems small and cozy. Asparagus-green paint coats the walls, and a few pictures of past harvests hang under one of the small, high windows. Across the room is the bud station, which features simple glass and birch cabinets. iVita offers call-ahead and punch-card programs for medical members, and it was one of the first recreational dispensaries in the state.
