http://www.livenation.com The southeast suburban amphitheater that originally opened as Fiddler's Green in 1988 was later named Coors Amphitheatre and then Comfort Dental Amphitheatre. Now back to its original name, the outdoor venue hosts a variety of nationally known acts each summer, like country superstars (Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley), metal and hard-rock bands (KISS, Iron Maiden) and classic-rock groups (Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Journey), as well as festivals including Mayhem and Ozzfest. The 18,000-seat venue has 7,500 fixed seats and a general-admission lawn section. More >>
http://www.livenation.com Built in 1907 as the Mammoth Roller Rink, the Fillmore Auditorium has a long and storied history as an entertainment venue. As Mammoth Gardens and Mammoth Events Center, the building hosted sporting events, parties and shows for more than six decades. After a multimillion-dollar renovation in 1999, the venue reopened as the Fillmore -- with decor reminiscent of Bill Graham's famous Fillmore in San Francisco -- and has hosted countless renowned musical acts, including Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Coldplay. One of downtown Nederland’s main watering holes, First Street Pub & Grill is a no-frills spot with an earthy mountain feel. While it’s a relaxed spot during the week, it can get a bit packed on the weekends that it hosts live bands or during one of the town’s annual celebrations, such as Frozen Dead Guy Days. The bar, which opened in 2004, has a decent selection of brews, and the menu includes pasta, burgers, pizza and sandwiches, with vegan and vegetarian options. More >>
http://www.flatironcrossing.com One of the nicest things about FlatIron Crossing, the shopping mecca that put Broomfield on the mall map, is the indoor/outdoor setup -- because there are some days in Colorado when you desperately need some retail therapy but just can’t bear the thought of walling yourself entirely away from the sunshine for the day. The outdoor plaza offers 50,000 square feet of retail space, and the adjacent indoor mall has almost 1.5 million square feet, so there’s plenty to peruse wherever the weather takes you. Home to several notable chains, the mall also sports a children’s sandbox and play area, a spot for teens to hang out, and other amenities that make it a fabulous shopping destination for the whole family. http://www.foolishcraigs.com Articles and awards in the entrance of bi-level Foolish Craig's boast of the restaurant's reputation for epic crepes, and the place turns out a long list of light, thin pancakes holding everything from mushrooms to fruit. The rest of the menu at the eclectically decorated spot on Pearl Street's East End comprises typical cafe food, including burgers, salads and breakfast options. There's a noticeable health and vegetarian consciousness here, too, and the dinner menu ventures into seasonal American dishes easily paired with beers on tap, cocktails or wine. On spring and summer mornings, the tiny patio is always full; in the colder months, diners prefer the cozy, sunbathed nook at the front of the restaurant. More >>
http://www.foxtheatre.com Aside from being among the country's best-regarded venues, the Fox continues to offer one of the Front Range's best concert experiences. Unrestricted sight lines and flawless sound abound, and the calendar is consistently excellent and diverse, with the best and brightest locals, indie hip-hop and rock, mainstream acts on the verge, and everything in between, as well as a stellar lineup of national acts. Factor in a friendly bar staff and reasonable drink prices, and you have a room that is simply the most intimate and enthralling place to see a show. More >>
The Frontier Club offers the feel of a bygone era, a time when farmers populated the eastern stretches of the metro area. The bar sits between the fringes of older, suburban Aurora and clusters of recent development to the west, giving it the feel of a friendly, relaxed outpost on the edge of urban chaos. The spacious bar boasts pool tables, shuffleboard, a dance floor and even a battered piano. With live country and rock on Friday and Saturday nights and a constant stream of local sports games on its big-screen TV, the owners aim to keep customers occupied. Add the bar's signature burgers and burritos to the mix, as well as its family-friendly karaoke on Thursdays, and it's an ideal place to escape suburbia without driving too far. More >>
