http://www.redrocksonline.com The geologically formed natural amphitheater at Red Rocks comprises monolithic red sandstone formations that provide ideal acoustics for outdoor performances each summer. Since opening in 1941, the legendary venue ― the only one of its kind in the world ― has hosted countless national and international acts, from the Beatles to the Police to U2, which filmed and recorded Under a Blood Red Sky here. While concerts are the main draw at Red Rocks in the summer, the venue is open to visitors most days of the year, as is the Ship Rock Grille, located in the Visitor Center at the top of the amphitheater. http://www.facebook.com/rhinoceropolis Rhinoceropolis has it all -- even if some of that is do-it-yourself. The venue is part show space, part home, and all living homage to every underground hangout in American teenage music history. There's no sign on the building, never any set cover charge for any show, and no question that whether Nu Sensae, Monotonix or SSION is coming through, there's a party to be had. The space is always all-ages, and open to virtually any kind of music. The best best way to book a show at Rhinoceropolis? Go to shows there. The venue is the not-for-profit heart of a creative community that exists on the bands, DJs, artists and people who get involved. More >>
http://www.rickgarciaband.com One of Denver's prime spots for Tejano and New Mexico music, a lot of folks come to Rick's Tavern to dance, which might be why the dance floor takes up most of the space in the place. Owned and run by Rick Garcia, it's a lively spot on Saturdays and Sundays (the only nights the place is usually open) when there's live music it's home base for the Rick Garcia Band, who usually plays there at least once a week. The club occasionally hosts line dance lessons as well. It's a friendly joint for most part and heavy drinking and cursing aren't tolerated. More >>
While the Roadhouse gets its share of bikers, it's one of the most friendly joints in the neighborhood. It's particularly fun on the weekends with a lively group of regulars taking part in karaoke or listening to live music. More >>
http://www.theroxydenver.com Since it first opened as a movie house eight decades ago, the Roxy Theatre in Five Points has gone through many incarnations; the 4,800-square-foot space was a dance club before becoming a live-music venue in 2011 and getting a remodel, a new sound system and a new lighting rig. While the 500-person Roxy brings in a fair amount of local and national hip-hop acts, it also hosts rock, jazz and metal shows. More >>
http://www.royalhilltop.com Owners James and Tina Pachorek did something brilliant when they opened this small, family-oriented British-style pub in the far reaches of eastern Aurora: They created a casual, laid-back, non-threatening restaurant that people want to return to. The menu, while lacking the glitz and style of trendier eateries, is filled with soul-satisfying pub food - bangers and mash, shepherd's pie with stout gravy, fish fry every night of the week - and the bar is well-stocked.
