Departure Restaurant + Lounge (249 Columbine St.), Cherry Creek’s modern, pan-Asian kitchen from Sage Restaurant Group and Top Chef finalist Gregory Gourdet, announces the launch of its Compass Dinner Series. Kicking off on Thursday, July 27 at 7 p.m. with a Japanese-focused menu, the three-part dinner series is inspired by global travel, highlighting the flavors and cooking techniques from select Asian countries that define Departure’s culinary ethos and disposition.
From July through September, Chef Gregory Gourdet and Executive Chef Khamla Vongasakoun will pay homage to Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam with exclusive dishes and desserts available for one night only each month. The first dinner celebrates the flavors of Japan, with nine decadent courses and the option to add beverage pairings, featuring a selection of sake, wine, and bright, seasonal cocktails. Guests can expect to enjoy a selection of Sashimi and Nigiri; Corn & Smoked Scallop Chawanmushi; Stone-Seared Wagyu Beef; Grilled Anago, and more. The evening’s featured cocktail is the Tessenjutsu, made with Ohishi Rice Whisky, Kuichi Yuzu Wine, Glenmorangie, white pepper-honey syrup, lemon, Hitachino Nest White Ale, and egg white.
“Following a successful event launch in Portland, we’re excited to bring this globally-inspired dinner series to Denver,” says Chef Gregory Gourdet. “We hope to bring all of the wonderful cultural traditions and ingredients of Asia to foodies in the Mile High City.”
The Compass Dinner Series continues on Thursday, August 31st – Thailand, and concludes on Thursday, September 28th – Vietnam. The nine-course dinner is $98 per person, with beverage pairings available for $40.
