"K + C Celebrate Bernstein." Founded in 2003 by Artistic Director Larry Keigwin and Associate Director Nicole Wolcott, K+C creates and presents a uniquely electrifying brand of contemporary dance. Throughout its 2018 tour, K+C is celebrating Leonard Bernstein's centennial with an evening of dance set to the music of this legendary composer. The performance includes two brand new dances set to Bernstein's "Piano Trio" and "Sonata for Clarinet and Piano."
K+C's stop in Lakewood also includes "Let's Make a Dance," an interactive workshop for the community at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Participants will be guided through the choreographic process with Keigwin and his dancers using games and guided improvisation. Registration is $25 at Lakewood.org/LCCPresents. Over the past 15 years, K+C has presented performances throughout New York City and nationwide at venues including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Summerdance Santa Barbara, New York City Center, the Joyce Theater, American Dance Festival, Bates Dance Festival and more. Don't miss your opportunity to see these extremely talented and joyous dancers as they make their stop in Lakewood. [Organizer's description]
