Jerry Osborn, owner of SOCOimaging.com, will teach the “Art of Preparing the Image to be Printed” at 7 p.m. Monday, August 14, at the meeting of the Palmer Divide Photographers Group. The meeting will be at the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts, 304 Highway 105, Palmer Lake.
Osborn is certified in Adobe products; and works with all the Epson papers. His presentation will include working with color and paper profiles, soft proofing, and many other factors to creating a fine print.
Osborn is a Colorado native and received his BA from WSC in Gunnison, CO. He has additional education in Computer Graphics from UCLA Extension in Westwood California and Advertising Design/Special effects Photography from Pasadena Art Institute that gave him a start in the digital printing and digital imaging industry. He spent 16 years working with a company in Hollywood, CA, having daily interactions with all the major advertising agencies who represented industries such as, autos, clothing, beverages, food, TV networks, the movie industry and many more.
“This company gave me the opportunity to set-up pre-production and production facilities in Australia, Brazil, Holland and pre-production offices in Miami, New York and Detroit,” Osborn said. “The experience I gained by working with an incredible management team, high profile clients, art directors and print managers fueled my passion for digital imaging.”
“Today, I offer large format digital printing to photographers/artists and fine art reproduction to artist. In addition,” he said, explaining that he is Adobe Certified with Photoshop and enjoys teaching one-on-one and small classes.
