This one-day oil painting workshop will introduce students to the fundamentals of landscape painting on location.
The morning session will start with a lecture and painting demonstration to introduce (or reinforce) the basic concepts of landscape painting. Instructor Janet Anderson will discuss the set-up, equipment needed for painting on location and how to approach a painting. The workshop will cover the visual elements present in all paintings -- value, shape, composition, color, edges and texture. Janet will demonstrate and discuss how to simplify shapes and how to achieve depth in your landscape painting.
The afternoon session will start with a brief demonstration outdoors, then students will have the remainder of the day to paint.
