Fairs and markets will be popping up all over town this month. But for something completely different, don't miss the Denver Punk Rock Flea Market, which blazes into the Glitter Dome with flea fare and a full bar catering to punk-rock culture for a full-blown party.
Sponsored by Soda Jerk Presents, the Denver Taco Festival and the Colorado Tattoo Convention and Expo, the Denver Punk Rock Flea Market is a DIY and all-ages event where the rules of buying, selling, trading and bartering all apply. More than 120 vendors have been confirmed, and they'll offer items ranging from vinyl and music equipment to vintage punk clothing and accessories.
“Because this flea market is within punk-rock culture, it’s very driven by music, and so our vendors are bringing things they’re passionate about,” says market organizer Michelle Cozzaglio, who notes that she looked carefully through each vendor application. “If they don’t fit with what we’re trying to do here, there are plenty of other events for them to get involved with. I’m just blown away every time that with a punk-rock-related event we are able to find such a variety of vendors to make people happy.”
The market runs from noon to 5 p.m. May 7 at the Glitter Dome Event Center, 3600 Wynkoop Street. Admission is $5 for adults, free for children under ten. An all-ages, $5 after-party will follow at the Seventh Circle Music Collective, 2935 West Seventh Avenue, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visit the Denver Punk Rock Flea Market Facebook event page for information.
