While square dancing has a bad reputation for being, well, square, the Rocky Mountain Rainbeaus, Colorado’s LGBTQ square dancing club, proves it doesn’t have to be. The group, part of the International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs, is inviting people of all sexual orientations and gender identities to an open house, to learn more about this Western art form and to practice a few moves. Come meet the dancers, see what the fun is all about, and give them a chance to recruit you for their Tuesday night lessons. This free open house takes place Tuesday, September 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Washington Street Community Center, 809 South Washington Street.
