Ted Vaca, National Slam Poet Champion and original host and founder of Denver's Sunday Night Poetry Slam, and SETH, performance poet, writer and founder of Mercury Cafe's Jam Before the Slam, perform their original works as guest artists on The Ira Liss Show, a local variety-talk-music show. The show is the twelth in a series of variety shows featuring local musicians, songwriters, dancers, actors, writers and poets. “The slogan or theme of the show is ‘Do what you love. Do it forever,’” explained Ira Liss, the show’s host. “The guests I feature embody that idea of following one’s passion, finding one’s own creative path of self-expression and connection. By featuring artists who do what they love (and do it beautifully!), I hope to encourage and inspire audiences to discover their own creative passion and follow their dreams. Plus, people find the show fun and entertaining.” Long-time Front-Range performing artist, writer, pianist and singer/songwriter Ira Liss hosts the show, performs his original musical comedy theater, introduces the guest artists and conducts an informal conversation or interview where guest artists discuss their creative process, life events and ongoing work. Breaking the fourth wall, the audience will be invited to ask their own questions during interviews. Guest musicians will be present to improvise and jam as part of the musical and spoken word performance. [Organizer's description]
