When they decided to introduce their new concept, Big Game, here in Colorado, New York restaurateurs Jeffrey and Zach Chodorow created a restaurant that resembles a mountain lodge, with a mega-sized media-lounge-and-sports emphasis that reminds us that football food doesn't have to be synonymous with fried mozzarella sticks. The sprawling space features hardwood floors, an amber-glowing gas fireplace, cushy leather chairs, an impressive arched entrance of antlers between the bar and dining room, an exposed kitchen and what has got to be the single largest television on the planet. Still, it manages to maintain a neighborhood-y vibe while offering a classy but approachable menu of sushi, several variations of mussels, steaks and chops. The beer roster, a perfect foil for the chicken wings or buffalo chili, includes several Colorado microbrews.
