This French restaurant is tucked away at the back of Larimer Square; its patio is one of the loveliest eating areas in town. The elegant-yet-comfortable dining room is also lovely – and there’s a private dining area that’s the ideal spot for an intimate party. Special as the setting is, though, the food is what sets Bistro Vendôme apart; a meal here makes a standard weeknight dinner seem like a special occasion. This is part of the trio of restaurants owned by chef Jennifer Jasinski and manager Beth Gruitch (they also have Rioja right across the street and Euclid Hall around the corner), and their attention to detail shows in every aspect of a meal here, from the smart, value-conscious menu to the wine list to the impeccable service. Much as we like this spot at night — when the lights come up in the buildings all around this urban oasis — brunch here is a particular treat.
