There's nothing pompous about this cute French bistro, whose informal, come-as-you-are ambience makes it very appealing to regulars. So does the fare: a spread of sandwiches, crepes and salads for lunch, and such French favorites as moules et frites and onion soup at dinner. But the real star is Sunday brunch; that's when regulars cram the place to order JaJa's dazzling crepes, filled with everything from smoked ham and Swiss, to scrambled eggs and bacon, to sunny-side-up eggs and sausage, to Nutella and sugar-kissed bananas. The unfussy elegance and incredible food, coupled with the camaraderie of ardent habitues who linger over Bloody Marys and bottomless mimosas on the lovely patio, make this bistro a must-stop for both wistful Francophiles and card-carrying foodophiles who want a little joie de vivre with their morning pick-me-up.
