Marczyk Fine Foods

The dynamic husband-and-wife duo of Pete Marczyk and Barbara MacFarlane opened Marczyk Fine Foods in the Uptown neighborhood of Denver in 2002 — the same year they had their son, Kaz. Since then, both Kaz and the Marcyzk empire have grown; Pete's brother, Paul, has joined the team, and a second store was added in 2011. The original shop is now an institution in the Uptown neighborhood, known as much for its special events — the Friday Burger Night in the summer, the Old Spice contest, the recipes (and ingredients) served up for holidays — as for its quality meats, produce, packaged goods, to-go prepared dishes and the bread that Pete learned to bake, to make sure the quality was up to Marczyk standards. There's a smart wine shop in back, too. When you drop by Marczyk Fine Foods, you know this crew is always cooking up something good – and if you follow their advice, you can, too.
