Satchel's on 6th

After running the quirky Satchel's Market in Park Hill for five years, Andrew Casalini and his wife, Jen Dactano, decided to get serious. They closed their original restaurant in order to open a place in a part of town where they thought the neighbors might be more interested in an upscale concept, initially one focusing on small plates, desserts and a wine list. They picked up a prime piece of real estate on Sixth Avenue, as well as an impressive partner: Larimer Associates, a group that's had its hand in numerous restaurants around town, including Ernie's Bar & Pizza, Billy's Inn and Madison Street. With that addition came a change in vision: By the time Satchel's on 6th opened in the spring of 2011, it had been transformed into a neighborhood joint serving an upscale, well-done New American menu that changes with the seasons. The new Satchel's maintains a lot of the whimsy that was a hallmark of the old place, but everything from the food to the wine list to the service is much more polished.
