Since it opened more than a decade ago in central Denver, Table 6 has been a fixture of the city's dining scene. The longevity of this respected institution has as much to do with the charm of longtime general manager-owner Aaron Forman as it does with the rustic interior, wide-open kitchen and talented floor staff. The menu focuses on modern comfort food, with the kinds of eccentric combinations that have become the new normal: lemongrass chicken scaloppini with candied yams, fried Brussels sprouts with truffle vinaigrette, lamb burnt ends with fig barbecue sauce and celeriac slaw. Once a destination, Table 6 has settled into a thoroughly enjoyable restaurant serving food that real life happens by, the stuff of dinners with Grandma, date nights, and friends deepening a friendship.
