The Hornet

The Hornet took over a Denver institution, Mary & Lou's Cafe, in 1995. Now the bar with an underrated happy hour and friendly, neighborhood-y menu is an icon in its own right. The menu is casual and heavy on comfort food, burgers and sandwiches; the beer list is approachable; and the dining room is always filled with a diverse group of customers. The Hornet was fresh and hip when it ushered in the millennium; now it's a comforting, familiar slice of Old Denver.
