The artwork on the walls in the Boulder Theater is enough reason to visit the historic movie-palace-style venue, where film screenings now take a second seat to first-rate music performances from local and national acts of all genres. A stellar annual jazz series, monthly tapings of the nationally broadcast e-town radio program and a comfortable bar elevate an already elegant room.

The Boulder Theatre is a great venue for seeing live music, watching great movies and to see KBCO's live radio show, e-town. Check out The Big Lebowski movie night and make sure to wear your bathrobe and drink white russians.

Orlando "MARACA" Valle is a world renown flautist, composer and bandleader of Latin Jazz, Afro-Cuban and Salsa music. One of the few top-level Cuban musicians able to tour in the United States his infectious songs of will bring you to the heart of the Tropics. "Maraca" Orlando Valle, represents the new generation of cuban musicians, equally versed in jazz and indigenous Cuban styles.

Marca started his musical career studying flute at age five. By age sixteen, In 1988, Maraca was asked to join his first professional group, Irakere. Irakere, very famous both in Cuba and throughout Latin America, was founded in 1973 by Chucho Vald�s and Paquito D'Rivera. He worked in Irakere as a flutist, keyboard player, and arranger and through the group was introduced to a host of internationally known jazz and Latin musicians, including Dizzie Gillespie, Paquito D'Rivera, and Chick Corea.

Later, one of his first tasks as a solo artist was writing and arranging several hit songs on the first Cubanismo album, which in turn led him to create his own group in 1996, Maraca & Otro Vision. One of the finest modern Cuban artists on the music scene today his album 'Tremenda Rumba' was Grammy nominated for "Best Salsa Album of the Year".

This will be one of the finest Cuban music events to have come to Boulder in the last ten years.
