There's a sizable vegan and vegetarian population in Boulder, and while many restaurants accommodate this group, Leaf is one of the few to feature a fully vegetarian menu (and most items can be made vegan). At this retreat just off Pearl Street owned by Louisville-based Three Leaf Concepts, the dining room soothes the senses with its warm, earthy tones and a mellow soundtrack -- the image of calm compared to its high-energy sister, Aji, next door. Even without meat, the menu is adventurous, reflecting the chef's travels around the world -- but the kitchen's execution can be bumpy. The way can be smoothed with vodkas infused with seasonal fruits and vegetables -- and since this group also runs Dushanbe Teahouse, the chai is worthy, as well.
