Sam Taylor's does its barbecue wet -- slathered in a thick, sticky, gloss-black sauce, a Tennessee-meets-Kansas City riff that packs both heat and sweet. The gigantic, slow-smoked pork ribs are excellent, as is the pork sandwich (or "poke sammich"); the homemade potato chips actually taste like potatoes, the brisket sandwich is decent, and the steam-table mac-and-cheese is awful. The portions are big, the prices reasonable and the service very friendly whether you’re eating in or just picking up a bag of ribs to go.
