Street Kitchen Asian Bistro is owned by chef Mary Nguyen, whose upscale French-Vietnamese restaurant Parallel Seventeen has been rocking in Uptown since 2005. For her second restaurant, this one in the Vallagio at Inverness, she planned a broader, more pan-Asian place that would draw from the street-food traditions of several cultures. But when the restaurant opened in January 2011, diners found it easy to get lost: The vast menu can be confusing, with colored squares differentiating dishes from China, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Street Kitchen's own creative canon -- and with many misses among the hits. But for a quick lunch in the Tech Center, an area distinctly lacking in interesting ethnic food, Street Kitchen does the trick...if you order carefully.
