Jonesy's is changing its name to the Centennial Tavern, but for the next year it will be the Centennial Tavern at Jonesy's. The kitchen will still offer gigantic bowls of perfectly cooked French fries drenched in macaroni-and-cheese-style bechamel and detailed with chives and chunks of bacon, a dish that will instantly shoot straight to the top of anyone's guilty-favorites list. The rest of the menu is a scaled back selection of pizzas and a few entrees, but the room will remain neighborhood-y and cool.
Jonesy’s EatBar opened in June 2008, in the space was formerly our restaurant, The Dish Bistro. Leigh decided in the spring that her life needed a little simplification, and that running a higher end restaurant just wasn’t what she wanted to do. We began thinking about and researching new concepts, knowing that we wanted something warm and comfortable, small and manageable, with a focus on local craft beers, but still serving an exceptional list of wines by the glass with a menu of favorite global comfort foods. About halfway through writing the business plan, we came across the term “gastropub”...exactly our idea, all fleshed out and even defined in Wikipedia! Yay!
