The Saucy Noodle

727 S. University Blvd. Denver, CO 80209 | South Denver | 303-733-6977

Location Description:

Saucy Noodle Ristorante celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in August 2014. Why has this family-owned spot in Bonnie Brae survived when so many of Denver's other red-sauce joints have gone dark? The friendly atmosphere definitely helps; newcomers and regulars alike can count on a warm welcome. They can also count on finding a consistent menu, filled with favorites like Mamma's baked lasagna, old-style pizzas and those giant, hand-rolled, all-beef meatballs. And then there's the sauce: Saucy Noodle makes all the classics and then some, including nut-free pesto and red sauce with canned clams. The red-and-white canopy out front warns: "If you don't like garlic, go home" -- but there's nothing here that would scare a timid eater, much less a vampire.
